Updated September 8, 2009
Statement of Policy Curamericas Global strictly adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights, including those statements related to protecting the privacy of our donors. Curamericas Global does not rent, share, or sell our lists to anyone outside of the organization for any reason.
Discussion
Curamericas Global only collects the information necessary to track gifts received including to what solicitation pieces the donor responded, the purpose or restriction of their gift, and the necessary contact information. The donor record also includes any pertinent notes from meetings or conversations that the donor has had with staff. This information is kept electronically on Curamericas Global's donor database, is password protected and is only accessible by the Executive Director, the Development Associate, and the Administrative Assistant. Information is not shared outside of the organization's staff except with the Board of Directors and that is only on a need-to-know basis. In each mailing to include emails, solicitation letters, and newsletters, donors are given the opportunity to remove their name from Curamericas Global's mailing list and have the option of remaining anonymous. Unless a donor expresses a desire to remain anonymous, donor names may be printed in the organization's Annual Report based on their giving category, and/or in Curamericas Global's newsletter Grassroots in recognition of their support.
It is the right of every donor to review the personal information collected by Curamericas Global, Inc., and to request corrections or changes. A copy of these records may be obtained by contacting the Curamericas Global office at 919-510-8787 or emailing the Executive Director, Dr. Jaime Carrillo, jcarrillo@curamericas.org.
